Initially, I am only planning on loading practice ammo, so I guess it doesn't matter. When I do load for carry, it will probably be some hot Gold Dots, so I guess I will get the Speer manual.

since I was planning to start out tinkering with the Lee tools, at least the little Lee Classic Loaders, I picked up a Lee Manual 2nd Edition. Not the greatest read, but it is written in such a way that even the load charts have powder volumes that correspond to the little Lee powder dippers. Like Pocketgun, I'm just making range ammo for my handguns, and staying on the mild side of the loads....no immediate plans for +p or magnum loads. I'm sure that will come later, as will a library of reloading manuals.
And thanks for the links Magman. I like the idea of the "scrapbook". I have a tendency to make copies of manuals for everything I tinker with, particularly the pages I'm working with at the time, so that I can make my own scribble notes on them, date them, and file them for later reference.
