what would you like Kel Tec build next?
what would you like Kel Tec build next?
Not sure about build next, but I would like to see them ramp up and get some guns out there so that we can buy them. Seems all the locations are running low or out of pretty much everything but the pistols. Would be nice to see some stock on the rifles and such, flood the market so maybe the price goes down an bit. Oh and of course the RMR-30!!
I for one would like them to include a 7.62 SU16 (guess that would be a a 17.62 then?) in their lineup. And the A model barrel length with the C barrel setup.
Personally I just love the SU16D if only it wasn't a SBR and even more impossible to find than the rest of their products.
A .45ACP pistol to rival the Kahr PM45. The long barreled RFB they promised would be nice too.

I have dreamed about a pocket sized .22 lr semi-auto, but that would be a true engineering feat for KT.

???
Given the problems that they had with the P-40 (Which were almost 100% caused by the end user.), I don't think we'll see anything larger than a 9mm in a pistol from Kel-Tec; unless they go full size with it.
But as long as we're dreaming, I'll second that nomination, as well as add a return of the P-40 to full production, the addition of the P-357 that never really got off the ground, a .32 NAA chambered P-380 size pistol, and/or conversion kits for said calibers. A full size 15 round .45 with optional adjustable sights would be nice too.![]()

We have a whole section dedicated to it here at The Range. It was a 40 S&W version of the P-11 that held 1 less round. They also sold a conversion kit that replaced the top end on a P-11. You just pull the take down pin, pull off the 9mm slide as you would for cleaning, and replace it with the conversion unit. Although they sell P-40 magazines, I never had a problem just using my P-11 magazines. I believe that they sold more of the conversion kits than the actual pistols, but I may be wrong about that.
The P-357 was a 357 Sig, but I don't think they ever got past the pre-production phase with it, and only a handful were ever made.
Such snappy calibers in such a light, compact pistol required a strong, steady hold for them to operate reliably. KTWM is an employee at Kel-Tec, and a member here. According to him, They were spending an inordinate amount of time checking out problems with P-40's that simply didn't exist. Over 95% of the P-40's that were returned to the factory under the warranty had no problems beyond their owner's ability to handle the recoil and not limp-wrist the weapon. That is why Kel-Tec discontinued production on them.
