Tazman here from Michigan. Just picked up a new P11. Some interesting results from my first range time with it. Actually posted something earlier about Remington shells not loading correctly in the gun.
But I like the way it carries and if I can get the re-load issue resolve, I think I will be VERY happy with it.
Welcome also from Michigan. Got my P11 back in August 2011 and only have 200 rounds through it with no problem. But I've only shoot UMC 115 gr. rounds through it, and love it.
Thanks. Got some cleaning tips from the P11 thread. Gave it a good cleaning yesterday and will try to re-clean with the tips from the P11 thread. I was pretty close on most of my cleaning as I have been cleaning long guns for years. Just the new things with grease. Was always under the impression you didn't want to use grease on a gun as it holds grains of dirt which can be damaging as the grease breaks down. But I will try it. Going to head to the range on Sat or Mon. Will update the site on performance.
This is also my first hand gun, but also have had long guns for 35 to 40 years. I have not put grease on mine as of yet, but if I have a problem I'll give it a try. The weather here is getting warm and if it continues I might go to the range. The range I use is outside and it has been cold.
Welcome Michiganbob, I'm from just outside of Detroit, living in Fla now. Congrats on your new puchase. I've had several P11's, I think you'll be happy with yours. I highly recommend the trigger shoe option on a P11. Go Tigers!
