su-16 jaming up also has anyone install new front sight

i have a su-16 a here in ct does any one have there su16 jaming up on them ? now i have a round stuck in there i shot 200 rounds and this happen today is this something they do ? also want to know if anyone has insstall a front sight on a su-16a and what kinda

I do not have the su-16 but am familiar with the AR-15 & M-16 and it sounds like the an ammo issue. Sometimes the Remington .223 will jamb/stick in a weapon chambered for the military 5.56 ammo. even though it says .223/5.56. The casings are .001 longer. Try to use military ammo and see if that helps. Tulammo is a Russian made ammo that seems to work very well in the AR.

Is your rifle brand new or has it already been broken in? Mine used to have some jams very early on and then settled in very nicely.

Knock out the stuck cartridge with a cleaning rod.
Or go to any gunshop and they will do it.
Clean and oil your SU-16.
A stuck round is intimidating, but easy to resolve.Call the factory for sight information. They will know.

Were you using steel cased ammo? It is a little wider (and dirtier) and is more prone to becoming stuck in the barrel chamber and not extracting. I would also check to see if you broke your extractor. YOU SHOULD NOT EVER USE STEEL CASED AMMO IN KEL-TECS FOR EXACTLY THIS REASON! They even say so. That includes Tula ammo which that other guy recommends - it is steel cased so don't use it in your SU-16.

I had this happen to me on a bolt-action Savage in .223. I removed the round by putting a good barrel cleaner down the barrel and letting it soak barrel pointed up for several minutes. Then I got a flat-head screw-driver and a rubber mallet and tapped on the rim of the round until it came out. But it is better to tap on a cleaning rod down the barrel.

Also, keeping your barrel and the other internals nice and clean helps prevent this kind of thing from happening. You get powder fouling that builds up and causes things to stick if you don't clean it out. And again, don't use steel ammo in Kel-Tecs.
