Wooden Ammo Box WW2 ?

Picked-up a wooden ammo box that I think is WW2, rope handles and such. has the following stenciled on each end of the box C704 LOP-105-39, Having spent my time in the Blue waters of the Atlantic and Pacific on a floating city, I don't know what this means i'm sure it has something to do with the ammo designation, but who knows. Thats why I am here would greatly appreciate any help along these lines. "STOCK-UP BE PREPARED HELP IS ON THE WAY".

reproductions are really common. but if i had to guess the stencils on the side are ammo type and lot number or sometimes they have strange date codes (like giving a numerical value to a 10 day period and then assigning each day in that block a number).

according to wikipedia the c 704 was an anti ship missile. could it be a box for a fuse or other part?
