P-11 grip/finish options (lots of pics)

So you are thinking of buying a P-11 and are wondering about the factory grip color and finish options available from Kel-Tec? If so, this thread should help clarify the different options that are (or were) available on the P-11 pistols.

The P-11 is Kel-Tec's first design, and has been in production from 1995-present. Talk of a Second Generation P-11 has circulated, but as of 7/27/2008 this is the only P-11 ever made. Specs are as follows:

    Factory Technical Specifications P-11
    Caliber: 9 x 19
Weight unloaded lbs. : 14.0 oz
    Loaded magazine : 6.0 oz
    Length : 5.85"
    Height : 4.30"
    Width : 1.00"
    Barrel Length : 3.10"
    Sight radius : 4.60"
Muzzle Energy Max : 400 ft lbs
    Capacity : 12 + 1 rounds
    Trigger Pull : 8.5 lbs

Some of the numbers listed on the Kel-Tec website are incorrect or antiquated, and have been updated here by me based on more accurate information.

The pistols were available in three different finishes, some of which were eliminated over time (as noted):

-Blued (slide looks matte black with an unfinished silver barrel)
-Parkerized (slide is dark gray with a charcoal black barrel)
-Electroless Nickel (slide and barrel have a matte silver finish - made in 1995 only and replaced by the Stainless Steel model - not the same as Jack Fuselier's Electrolytic Nickel)
-Stainless Steel (slide and barrel were stainless steel, not really a finish per se - replaced by Hard Chrome in 1999)
-Hard Chrome (slide and barrel have a matte silver finish)

The P-11 has the three standard Kel-Tec grip colors, and added one more in 2007:

    -Black
    -Gray
    -Olive Green
    -Navy Blue (new in 2007)

Below are some pics of various pistols with different color grips and finish options. Pics were mine (where credited) or from online auctions (uncredited).

    P-11 PICS

    Blued w/Olive Green Grip

    Stainless Steel w/Gray Grip
    That is my P-11!

    Hard Chrome w/Black Grip

    Parkerized w/Olive Green Grip

    Hard Chrome w/Navy Blue Grip

I have never seen so much as seen a picture of the Electroless Nickel P-11. The extractor and magazine tube on my Stainless Steel P-11 (above) seem to be finished in Electroless Nickel, so they may give you an idea of what they looked like. If someone has a picture of the Electroless Nickel model, let me know and I will post it.

WHAT?!?!?!?!? No Blue over Black? How can you call this complete? The stainless over grey picture looks like a Blue/Black, but can't tell though. Me thinks my next P-11 will be a Park'ed over OD Green, I like the looks of it a lot.

Naw , I think it was just the flash on the blue. Most of mine wear the finger extention but I keep a couple flat bases for certain holsters.

I love the finger rest extensions and shoot much better with them, but always tend to carry with the flat base plate so as to fit the little spaces I can spare to park the gun on my person. I do carry the pinkie rest mags for spares though. The more I think about it, the dumber it sounds (I should train with what I'll be carrying if confronted)

I do seem to have a weakness for shiney over black though (and really, the shiney over dark navy looked pretty darned good as well). Thanks to all who are taking the time to post pics.
