P32 gunshop versus gun SHOW price check 7/2/08

ALCON - (*FWIW I am in the NOVA/DC metro area)

Wow, it sure is hard to keep up with the gun hobby when you are an elementary schoolteacher - until summertime hits!!

Now that I'm on summer break, I am in "search for gun projects & new guns" mode.....and I'm now on the hunt for a super-small .32, so with my personal experience of the Sub2k, and my satisfaction with owning a KT product, I decided to think about getting a P32.

Any thoughts as to current gun shop versus gun show prices on new (and/or used) P32's these days?

Is the market for CCW-friendly miniguns making prices go up or anything? I'm specifically talking about in Virginia.

Thanks, everyone! Now back to your regular programming....

Hi Adam ( I have my hand up )

    Welcome to the range!

I've carried my p32 in front pocket concealment for over five years now and I love it.
If you are looking for a .32, I highly recommend the little kel tec. I've put over five hundred rounds through mine with zero malfunctions of any type, and the size and weight almost makes you forget its even there....almost .

I haven't really noticed a big difference in price on these at shows compared to my local dealer.....generally around 230-250 new and around 200 or little less used.
If you can find one cheaper I'd jump on it.

Enjoy your summer away from the classroom, and good shootin'!

Georgia Rebel, eh? just a guess, from that username....

Thanks for the welcome - good report on the durability of your P32 so far. What is the most often used/carried ammo that you depend on? Want to get an idea of what works well before I get my little gun.

FWIW, just because I have a "Lee" in my name, doesn't automatically mean I am of confederate stock. However, in my case, it actually does! But it wasn't the Lee's side of the family - it was the Stevens....from Stafford Courthouse area, Stafford Co, Va. My gggrandad was in the 9th VA Cavalry out of Stafford, 1862.

Anyway, thanks for the info, and the welcome.

garebel's numbers are in line with what I have seen too. Finding used Kel-Tecs in NV is almost impossible - those who buy them tend to keep them. I want a First Gen P-32 with a gray grip, blued slide.

    Adam,

Not that I wish to discourage you from your purchase, but have you considered a P-3AT?

They can be had for just a shade more than a P-32 (Only $5.00 more at my local gun shop.), the difference in size and weight is negligible, and they offer a step up in power over the .32 ACP.

    Yep! Thats a good guess
I also had some kin who fought for the Confederacy, including one ggguncle who was killed at Gettysberg.

I've had zero problems with any ammo in my p32 including Speer Gold Dots and Cor-Bon JHP and a variety of FMJ. Every round functioned without a hitch.
See what I mean when I say I love this little pistol?

I paid $226 for mine out the door (new) one year ago, they also gave me a Desantis pocket Holster for It, I bought 2 box's of Ammo, as a thank you! I did a minor Fluff and Buff on mine and took it too the range, It has been a very nice gun, I carry it everyday, and shoot it as much as I can! I love the little gun, no troubles what so ever.

That is the best deal I have seen in quite some time. They may have even screwed up. I'd patronize the hell out of that shop.

Yeah, I know the owner well, he is a nice guy, I do buy a lot of stuff there too. I love the heck out of my P32, It shoots well, and the workmanship is very nice for the $ of the gun, I have been carryig it almost daily.
