    P32 or PF9

Have a PF9 in hard chrome with black and have yet to fire it. Had a Bersa 380 that I traded on the PF9 (both new and unfired). Did not like carrying the Bersa because it was uncomfortable for me. The PF9 is more comfortable, but I am considering trading it for a P32. I would want the hard chrome with black and would want the latest edition so I had all the upgrades.
Have any of you traded from the PF9 to the P32? I am not one that really worries about knock down power because when I do shoot I am very good and usually hit right on target with what I aim at. And, from personal experience I can tell you that even being shot in the left chest and shoulder with an AK47 does not always kill.
Anyway, I am interested in your opinions on the trade of the PF9 to the P32.

If you are that confident in your abilities, and not worried about penetration through a lot of heavy winter clothing, then I would not think of trying to talk you out of a P32. Of all the KT pistols, I like the P32 the most. Very easy to conceal carry, accurate for follow up shots and easy to care for. Any new HC model you find on the shelf now should have all the latest upgrades, I would think.

    Welcome!

I've never carried a pf9, but I can say that I've carried my p32 for years with confidence...and comfort.
A bit of a warning however , you might actually forget you are carrying it when carrying a p32.

    Different strokes, etc....

Current models have all the latest greatest - any P-32 with a serial number of CJQxx or later (numbers 1-9, then letters A-Z are the order they use, so A comes after 9).

Sorry to hear of your misfortune with the AK.

The PF-9 and P-32 are pistols built for different purposes IMO. P-32 is much more of a max-conceal design, whereas the PF-9 is a small full power pistol.

I prefer to carry pistols scaled to the threat level. Say a P-32 or P-3AT for daily (low threat) use where comfort and concealability are more important than other factors. A belt gun, in my case a P-40, is for situations where concealability isn't as vital, a threat is more serious, and choice of clothing is more flexible as far as dressing around the weapon to a somewhat greater extent. The PF-9 actually fills two niches right in between those two: larger pocket carry in cargo pants/shorts, or a thin belt gun, which is the next step up for me. This requires both a pocket and belt holster, of course.

    -P-32/P-3AT in front pocket
    -PF-9 in front pocket
    -PF-9 IWB on hip
    -P-11/P-40 IWB on hip

FWIW I carry a Glock 29 (subcompact 10 mm Auto) SoB in bad neighborhoods.

the misfortune with the AK was during my tour in VietNam with the Marines. Took three rounds to left chest and shoulder then spent the next year recuperating in Great Lakes Naval Hospital just north on Chicago. I was one of the lucky ones, four of my buddies were not so lucky that day. I visit them on the Wall in DC every chance I get.

First, welcome home brother. What year were you there? 72-73 for me. ( Disabled USAF Vietnam Vet) Second, why not keep the PF-9 and get a P-32 as well? I have both a P-32 (Navy Blue with hard chrome slide) and a PF-9 (OD Green with matte black slide) and carry both daily. I usually carry both on my belt, right and left, and any jacket or shirt untucked easily hides them. Sometimes I keep the PF-9 on my belt and slip the P-32 in my pocket in a wallet holster. The P-32 is back-up for the PF-9 and I feel very well armed carrying both.
Sure you can trust the Government. Just ask any Indian!

Spirithawk, I was there in '67. Medically retired from the Marines in '68 at the ripe old age of 20.

I kinda figured you got it serving. Glad you made it and are here with us.

You probably won't get much for the P-32 from the dealer, who will then sell it for nearly the price of a new one. Best bet is to keep it IMO.

I thought he was considering trading a PF9 in order to get a P32. If that's the case, I know a dealer that would do an even trade of a NIB P32 for a (good condition) PF9.

Probably correct surv. I took "trade" to mean "replace" but maybe he is going to actually make a swap of some sort. I still bet the dealer is going to want a bit of dough to sweeten the deal.
