The 1G was 1.1 ounces lighter, and had a different slide shape and different sights. The slide, barrel, extractor, extractor spring, extractor pin, and firing pin screw are different. The 2G eliminates the extractor pin, and the extractor screw that replaced it also doubles as a firing pin screw. The 1G had a recoil spring guide that was separate, but is now integrated into the 2G slide like most pistols. The dust cover area of the grip was also enlarged to accommodate this change.

i think gen1 is better looking. Buy new though because of lifetime warranty and parts.
