    P3AT lifespan?

Am curious what the educated opinions are for the lifespan of these little guys. Have about 1,000 through mine now. Still runs perfect and I love it. Anybody run 1,000s downrange?

Am asking because CDNN is running a special on the brown ones and I'd love to snap one up for a backup while the're still available (and cheap).

If I've got another 9,000 rounds left in mine - I'll stay pat. Might shoot 50/mo now to stay sharp with it.

I think I've seen numbers around the 6-8000 range? Not sure though. Just check it out whenever you're cleaning it... I mean it's a far cry from a range toy, shoot enough to stay proficient and it should last you many years.

Yep! Banana nailed it. Kel-Tec's FAQ has the following to say in answer to that question.

What is the expected life of a Kel-Tec firearm
All Kel-Tec firearms have an expected life of 6,000 rounds or more.

I would add that any firearm, including Kel-Tecs, could have an unlimited lifespan if given the proper care. Of course things like springs are going to wear out and need replacing along the way. The only part that cannot be easily replaced on a P-3AT by the end user is the frame due to FFA regulations. That, however, is covered under the warranty, and can be replaced by the manufacturer.

Shooting is one of the great joys in life. Pass it on.

It will last as long as Kel Tec does, lifetime warranty and all....

I've got over 1000 through my 1G #H464X and over 600 through #0013X. No issues when I'm behind the trigger

Mine has more than 3000 through it, based on ammo receipts versus current inventory. Of that, more that 500 were the hard hitting Santa Barbara Spanish military stuff, because it was cheap at the time. I don't see anything resembling wear other than on the exterior of the slide from handling and carrying in cheap holsters.

With my new found enthusiasm for carrying a Kahr PM40, it will last longer than I do.
