Does anyone know if there are metal replacement triggers available for the PF9? I don't mind the plastic one from the factory but I would go for an improved one if available.

I'm not sure. I think we had someone making them at one point. I'll have to do some research.

They don't make them for the PF-9, but Red Lion Precision is making them for the SU and PLR series. You might want to shoot them an e-mail and ask if they plan to make them for the PF-9 in the future. I believe that KT uses the same trigger on all of their pocket pistols. If that is the case, they could make a lot of money on a simple small part, and if they get enough e-mails asking for them, it may get them to do it.

Hard to believe they'd use plastic in such a critical component, but I haven't seen any complaints about trigger problems in my brief time as a member of this forum. Are there, or have there been issues with the plastic trigger? I'm usually of the opinion, 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it', but in a situation where your life might depend on the performance of your piece, it would be comforting to know that the trigger isn't going to snap in two, or jam when pulled (excuse me...'squeezed').
Kel-Tec is hardly the only gun manufacturer using plastic for triggers....

I would consider the grip frame at least as important as the trigger, and guess what it's made out of? And, the polymer of the grip is not as thick as that of the trigger. I could see replacing the trigger to get a different profile, or as a custom touch, but the trigger breaking on me would not even come into play in my decision.

I have no concerns of a breaking trigger. I would prefer a wider trigger and different profile. It shoots fine but I don't believe it has the best trigger Kel Tec could have come up with.
It may be the best at this price point, that is my opinion.

There is a running thread on KTOG KTOG Forum - Aluminum Trigger Project On a guy that is currently working on a metal trigger.. also looking at doing one with a possible trigger stop built in..
We are beta testing the aluminum trigger and all I can say is WOW. I like it very much.
