The PF-9 is slightly more compact and weights a bit less. The P-11 is slightly bigger, and weights a bit more.
Here are the stats:
Firearm: PF-9
Weight unloaded: 12.7 oz.
Loaded magazine: 5.5 oz.
Length: 5.85"
Height: 4.3"
Width: 0.88"
Barrel Length: 3.1"
Capacity: 7 + 1
Trigger Pull: 5 lbs
Firearm: P-11
Weight unloaded: 14 oz.
Loaded magazine: 6 oz.
Length: 5.6"
Height: 4.3"
Width: 1"
Barrel Length: 3.1"
Capacity: 10 or 12 + 1*
Trigger Pull: 9 lbs
* The P-11 can use S&W 59/5900 series magazines.
Weight, width, and trigger pull are the only areas in which the PF-9 has an advantage over the P-11. The P-11 can almost double the ammo capacity of the PF-9 with factory 12 round magazines. The use of S&W magazines will more than double that of the PF-9, although they are getting harder to find, and more expensive when you do. Also, while factory S&W magazines seemed to work fairly well , most after market mags for the S&W 's require a little adjustment to work properly.
The P-11 also has full second strike capability while the PF-9 does not. It is a trade off for the lighter trigger pull. Given the quality of ammo today, that is less of a concern than it used to be, but could come in handy if you are shooting cheap ammo at the range.
If you want the lightest, most compact of the two, go with the PF-9. If that is less of a concern than ammo capacity, go with the P-11.
The P-11 would be my personal choice. Others would take the PF-9. Truth be told, you can't really go wrong with either of them.

Self defense is not a part-time job!
Shooting is one of the great joys in life. Pass it on.

I bought a P-11 a few years ago after the PF-9 came out. Back then the PF-9 was very popular and I got a almost new P-11 cheap. I cannot resist a "good deal". Once upon a time I thought I would never own any gun but a single action auto. I found later that with some practice you can shoot OK with a DAO. I know for sure that in an emergency I do not want to fool with a safety or rack the slide. Point and fire is for me.
thank you all...I got a new p-11....will post when I get to fire it ......

I am still partial to the PF9...the P11 is too bulky with the double stack.
Meh, P11 ~= G26... And plenty of people like those. PF9 is definitely slimmer though.
"What guns? I sold them all..."
the p11 will expect surplus m9 mags if you cut a new notch a little higher in the mag. i think thats a bit of a bonus

got both and like both,,,but the pf9 trigger is better. my older p11 i had to do a lite f&b. a second newer p11 worked out of the box,, just like a glock. had to do some major work on the pf9 to make it run. had to send the pf9 back to kel tec for a off center firing pin and lite strikes. but i am still working on the pf9 for lite trigger strikes and mag release problems. think i got it fixed this week, the hammer block was too big and slowing down the hammer when it was hitting the primer. and kel tec sent a new mag release. so, if you can get your hand on both to check the feel and run some rounds it will let you know which one fits you.

Always go for the most rounds. Many LEO's consider the 9mm a poodle shooter. I do not. I know exactly the shock and wound channel it creates with the proper self-defense ammo.
Hard ball for qualifying and general plinking.

Handled both yesterday, very similar yet different. Trigger on PF9 very much lighter and weopon much slimmer. At 5'10", 155 lbs, cocealment is a challenge for me. My primary is a Kimber ultra carry, and at 23 ozs. its much larger and heavier than the PF9 and gets left at home to much. Cant wait to pick up the 9 next week and begin training and break-in. Still need to order 2 spare mags, and holster of some sort. Was thinking maybe an out side the belt PDA looking pouch(hide in plain sight), possibly custom made. Any comments or suggestions? Steve N
