New PF-9 - First Range Trip

Couldn't stand it... had to expand the family.

I have always loved my P-11 and it has been completely reliable after the first two magazines it had through it... can't say that about my Rugers

I put 100 through my new PF-9 first trip out with zero malfunctions.

(Rem UMC 115gr JHP, WWB 115gr JHP, WWB 115gr FMJ, Rem UMC 115gr FMJ, Fed Am Eagle 115gr FMJ).

It definitely kicks a little harder than the P-11 but very manageable... unless you put 100 rounds down range in one visit. Sort of feels like my old P3AT on steroids.

The gun shop had the blued and hard chrome for the same price. I guess I am old fashioned... I opted for the blued version.

I love the PF9 hope some day to get one to go with my P11. Have you decided on which defensive load to use in it yet? I see you shot Rem. UMC JHP 115 gr., is that your choice. Or just rounds you had around?

New to hand guns so always full of questions.

I will likely use the UMC 115gr JHP or the Winchester White Box 115gr JHP.

I personally tested the WWB 115gr JHP several years ago using my P-11. My results with them were almost identical to Mr. Smith's tests with the UMC 115gr JHP shown here (LINK).

The UMC seems a little hotter than the WWB in my PF-9.
