Welcome Rave. Please post at the welcome thread and tell us as much as you dare about yourself. This is mandatory. I don't know much about the PLR 16 except I want one. I would suggest you call Kel Tec customer service. If you don't know already, it is great. I had some issues with the mag on my Sub2K and rather than send it back the talked me through it on the phone. This sounds like one of those issues. Some with more knowledge will probably be along late and try to help you. Let us know what happens.

So few seem to actually use them (factory 10 rd mag) that I don't hear much on them. Most use 20 or 30 rd USGI mags, or the P-Mag.

You might try some light sanding of the mag, and look for seams or irregularities in the mag well that could be removed. I wouldn't oil the mag.
