Maximum Effective Range

Does anyone know what the maximum effective range of the PLR-16 with the 9.5 inch barrel would be for an urban combat scenario?

Probably whatever range you can hit somebody at... Urban combat would probably be well within the range, I would think max somewhere between 50 and 100yds though out of that short of a barrel...

Max effective range for an M16 is 460 meters.........I would expect that to be halved in the PLR16.

urban combat engagements can have insane ranges far beyond those in jungle environments. iraq and somolia both had areas where there were a few large buildings surrounded by smaller ones and sniper shots from a mile away were not unheard of (record was in afghanistan though). in a modern city where the streets are long and straight your line of sight can be almost unlimited

I thought most shootings happen @ 25 yards or less?

those are defensive shootings. different from urban combat

Sounds like a safe distance for a shoot and scoot.
With the 223 round would it be a wound or kill that far?

Says max effective is 400 meters which is 437 yards. (1312.3 feet) Not bad right?

100 yds with a 223 would be a kill if its center mass
