This problem is kinda weird. My plr-16 will extract a spent case when fired, but I cannot manually extract after chambering a round without using a cleaning rod. Any suggestion? Thanks.

Does the round stay put? or does it get pulled from the barrel and just sit there?
It is better to avoid than to run; better to run than to de-escalate; better to de-escalate than to fight; better to fight than to die. the very essence of self-defense is a thin list of things that might get you out alive when you are already screwed.- From “Meditations on Violence
is this happening with several brands of quality amunition or with just a single brand? And what ammunition has been tried?

It stays seated ready to fire. This was with lake city ammo. I just tried federal and had no problems. Is this a common malady for this gun? Being that picky on ammo? Thanks.
I can't say that I am personally familiar with the gun itself, but I have a clue that the problem may be with either the overall length of the round, or possibly the geometry of the ogive .... either of which could cause the tip of the projectile to extend into the rifling and "stick". If that's the case, I wouldn't shoot too much of it in that particular gun. I think it could lead to some serious over pressure in the casing and lead to a catastrophic failure. You could check the OAL of the suspect rounds as compared to those that seem o.k., and also do a visual inspection/comparison of the projectile shapes. Another thing to try is dropping a round into the chamber by hand to see if it will fully seat with very little or no thumb or finger pressure applied. If the Federals "drop in", and the Lake City needs a good bit of encouragement, I would suspect that either the Lake City ammo isn't spec'd for the PLR16, or you may have gotten a batch that wasn't made to spec to begin with...... or, you have a chamber out of spec.
If I were you, I wouldn't shoot the Lake City ammo without calling Tech Support at KT for their expert advice.

Thanks much for the info. Wouldn't want a catostrophic failure as my username is factual. Thanks!
I think Lake City does some fine work, so I hope no one thinks I have a low opinion of their ammo. Out of curiosity, what bullet weight is the Lake City ammo you were having the problem with.
I'm sure there are plenty of 223/5.56 guys here that would have a lot more experienced opinion on the issue than mine.
Keep us posted on what you find out.
