You've got to put a lot of rounds thru the gun in a very short amount of time for the handguard to start melting. Unless you are the type to just slam them thru I wouldn't worry about that at all. Mine is not chrome lined but the military had to do this with the M16 to make it cycle reliably and handle the mud and sand conditions. I've not had problems with mine at all and it bump fires nicely.

Thanks. Judging from what everyone keeps telling me, I really don't even think I have enough magazines I can load up and bump fire to get it that hot. I've only got two or three.
If I had a nickel for every time someone misinterpreted one of my empty threats, I'd have enough money to buy a gun to shoot them with.
