Well, here is the end result of 7 weeks of overtime money, an overactive imagination, and a desire to be different. I call it my ARSR-40 (or the Q-36 Illudium Explosive Space ModulatOr)
1. Yankee Hill machine 7” rail extension. ($35)
2. YHM 5” rail extension. 7” no longer made. ($32.50)
3. YHM forearm rail folding front sight #9427. ($59 on Ebay)
4. YHM rear folding sight A2 #9680. ($85)
5. YHM ½” scope riser #9490. ($11)
6. Kel-tec compact forearm. ($11)
7. TDI tactical vertical grip. (17.95)
8. Panther tactical flashlight and switch. ($28)
9. UTG 5 slot tri-rail mount x 2, to make 1 quad rail. ($60)
10. UTG 2 slot tri-rail mount. ($16)
11. BSA multi dot reflex site. ($49.97)
Sum total = $405 + a probable $100 in total shipping costs. No 2 of these items came in the same shipment.
By removing the compact forearm, I was able to move the rear mount about ¾” further back, to locate the rear flip sight nearer to the stock position. I may still put the compact forearm back on it to make it look nicer, but the vertical fore grip is fine for now. If I do this it will have something like Scout rifle type sights, but the rear peep has a large aperture opening for 0-200yds, so I should still be OK. The sight line for the AR sights is approximately ½” higher than the stock sights, so I’m going to zero at 25 or 30yds, and work from there. Whatcha think, aside from the fact that I’ve gone off the deep end?
SOMEBODY PLEEZE STOP ME!!!
